NEW AFRICA PETROLEUM HOLDINGS’ STORY
From humble beginnings to inevitable success, the New Africa Petroleum Holdings story is one of perseverance, forward-thinking and triumph.
Fuelled by the passion of a visionary team of entrepreneurs and stakeholders with a dream of changing the face of the petroleum industry of South Africa, New Africa Petroleum was established in 1997 through the acquisition of the Shell Ultra City Midrand as its first two filling stations.
Today the business has scaled up to 14 Petroleum Stations and 3 Packaging Companies.
Identifying a gap in the market for a variety of high-quality packaging solutions at competitive prices, the group extended its presence into the food packaging industry in the year 2011.
Currently, the business supplies a multitude of industries such as hotels, restaurants, butcheries, and supermarkets.
The expansion of the business functions resulted in a need for space to accommodate the growth. This led to the venture for self-owned property, and in 2013, the business acquired land in Cosmo Business Park to develop warehouse space.
The continuous evolution and drive to expand the business are motivated by the needs of customers and brought to life by the desire to be of service to others. Because by providing customers with the highest value of products and services, the business is propelled forward.
OUR PEOPLE ARE OUR MOST IMPORTANT ASSET.
Humanity towards others is at the core of our business.
Being Africans means that we understand that it takes a village to create, develop and sustain a business such as ours. We are committed to the development of our people by recognising and harnessing the potential of previously disadvantaged individuals who carry a dream of managing service station outlets.
The New Africa Petroleum Group employs over 1000 staff, who subsequently contribute to their families, communities, and greater society. We take pride in the positive impact our business has had on the livelihoods of others in the employment opportunities for people of all skill levels.
INVESTING IN THE FUTURE
We believe that investing in our country’s youth is to leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
We have supported youth-focused organisations and establishments such as the Youth for Survival NPO and made our mark in the development of young people with a donation towards building a Boarding House Facility for Healdtown College.
With education being the key to success, we make financial aid available to our staff members through the New Africa Petroleum bursary programme to enable their children to further their studies at Higher Learning Institutions.
To extend our commitment to youth development, we have an internship programme that empowers unemployed youth with on-the-ground industry experience. Placing young people within our company exposes them to skills-learning and development to increase their opportunities of landing meaningful employment.
By supporting the communities in which we operate, we leave a positive imprint in the lives of others. Over our 25 years in business, we have shared our gains by giving back to faith-based organisations, such as by making multiple contributions towards building initiatives for local churches. We have also participated in the upliftment of others by donating towards a leadership conference to train Sunday School teachers and youth leaders.
